Be yourself; everyone else is taken. Oscar Wilde
Paul Aterman is the Chairperson of the Social Security Tribunal of Canada. He is committed to making justice systems simple, quick and fair – so that they work for the people that need to use them. He is active in the access to justice movement, as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Center for Plain Language.
The tribunal takes a holistic approach to access to justice. In addition to moving to plain language in all of its communications, the tribunal assists self-represented litigants through its navigator service. Staff at the tribunal guide self-represented parties through the appeal process from start to finish.
