Eyitayo Ogunyemi

Laws are made for people (not lawyers).

Having established an effective ecosystem for legal literacy in Nigeria, Eyitayo's law firm is now expanding their services across Africa. Their aspiration is to help African entrepreneurs to grow their businesses by empowering them with knowledge of laws and government policies.

Eyitayo holds a Master degree in Law. He is currently researching how plain communication aids compliance with law. Eyitayo devotes at least two days in a week to teach entrepreneurs on Facebook Live - his weekends are usually devoted to training entrepreneurs on Zoom, WhatsApp and Telegram. He spend his free time volunteering - recently leading a team of corporate governance/compliance professionals to advise the Nigerian Government on policy framework for private sector implementation of the National Ethics and Integrity Policy, 2020.

Reshaping Economies through Legal Literacy (the Law Accent Story)

Presented by Eyitayo Ogunyemi

During the industrial age, public interest lawyers used their legal knowledge to defend people that knew little about “legal rights”. Today, people need to “know”. That way, they can do what is right and demand accountability. At Law Accent, we increase legal literacy with graphics, pictorial flyers, Facebook Live, smaller group mentoring on WhatsApp and Telegram. My goal is to show you how we have created a content ecosystem that allows us to enlighten thousands of people across different platforms using different approaches with one goal- legal literacy.

Join this presentation to:

  • Learn to create an effective content ecosystem across multiple platforms, with very little resource

  • Help your team and target audience grow in knowledge

  • Learn how to share valuable information and be profitable

  • Reach a wider audience with your message and not burn out

  • Be inspired about the opportunities by legal and plain-language networking across borders in Africa.
